Sendling

Sendling (pl. Sendlinge) is the word used for the missionaries Wilhelm Loehe sent to the United States in response to F.C.D. Wyneken’s letter, The Distress of the German Lutherans in North America.

Like the Greek word apostle, sendling literally means "sent one."
